Theatre is often a space that offers the possibility of fertile and beautiful encounters. At least that is what was behind the initiative of the festival when they invited the playwright and stage director Lars Noren and the German actress Anne Tismer, two great artists of European and contemporary theatre to work together. They are both well known to the festival and its public, since the beginning we have woven together true artistic faithfulness. Lars Noren was the guest of honour at the first festival and since then, he continually gives us the possibility to discover his work both radical and human. A reminder, should this man of theatre still need an introduction: after having focused his artwork on the private world (the family, the bourgeois couple…), he then invested a more social aspect through marginal circles exploring new paths for a new theatre. Following an invitation from the Festival de Liège, he explored without fear the pathological urges and the troubles of the individuals of our contemporary society through a monolog he wrote for Anne Tismer, this magnificent actress that we have already applauded in Concert à la Carte and that we can find in this year’s festival accompanied by Rahel Savoldelli in Gutes Tun 1.3. A monolog with a human fair and piercing view on the contemporary world. A monolog where this actress can show all her strength, and her singularly ambiguous presence.
