R-9

Collectif Detruitu
Puppets / Belgium

R-9. R like Revolution. 9 like nine months it takes to give birth but as well like the exact time of maturation and preparation of this show. But that is not all that can be found in this title. R-9, is equally R for Rebirth, the non-egg of the hen. R-9 is even the fresh air that blows or a not fresh air that doesn’t blow but suffocates. R-9 is before all other things the second show of the Liégeois collectif Detruitu, a puppet show without words which comes from the sentence: “the birth of a revolution is killed in the egg” that keeps going back in an insidious way, because revolutions are often aborted or quickly recuperated by one power or another. More than just telling a tale, It is powerful images that Detruitu wants to appear, images that are born from the original encounter between music, lights, objects, and the puppets like living sculptures. These images are filled with a thousand symbols that will impregnate the spectators and open the parts to their emotions and imagination. The puppets that occupy the main part of this show take us to the limits between dreams and reality and never appear however as a substitute of the human being… they may not even be puppets, but rather a reflection of our emotions and feelings deeply hidden, as says this young collective.
