COULEURS GALERIE
STREET ART – Scene and Obscene (Scène et obscène)
At the ECURIES
In the Spring of 2009 the Couleurs Galeries will see the light of day, blowing a fresh and wild wind into our cultural year. The gallery will launch its activities in a place well-known to the people of Liège, the former Couleur Café). After several alterations the the café will rediscover its original purpose, that of encounters and new creations.
But before welcoming you at rue Souverain Pont 22, in Liège, the Couleurs Galeries invite you to the Ecuries du Manège throughout the Festival.
The exhibition will gather together artists from the field of Street Art, a form that questions our rules and our society, creating a resonance with the spirit of the Liège Festival.
Artists from different origins and generations will illustrate many forms of artistic expression with the theme “Scene and Obscene”.
Two sessions will be required faithfully to expose the breath of the assembled talent. The first opening on Friday, February 6th, will be followed by an exceptional evening orchestrated by the collective “Party Harders”.
It will be at this event that we will be able to inform you of the future activities of “Couleurs Galeries” and notably about a project initiated under the auspices of the Cultural Department of the City of Liège, designed to promote artists from and around the city.
